The Accountancy Practice was commenced in August 2015. It was the fourth Accountancy Practice to be run by Rob in an illustrious career.
Q: What was Rob's motivation for starting the business?
Rob always enjoyed assisting people and working with figures. This was therefore the perfect combination.
Q: Are similar skills possessed to that of the owner?
The answer is that you will ideally need to be a part or fully-qualified Accountant of one of the main bodies.
Q: Do you have a passion for the Accountancy profession?
The key point here is that if you have a real passion for Accountancy. It can be a demanding industry as you know from when you sat your Accountancy examinations.
Q: What is the criteria for choosing a frachisee?
Your personality and skill set will be assessed to see if you fit the system.
Q: How much do I have to invest to start?
A franchise costs £25,000. It may be possible to fund up to 70% of this via the bank. Operating Capital of £3,000 is also required.
Q: How much liquid capital will I need to maintain to cover the franchise until it breaks even?
It is required to keep a float at least £3,000 in the firm's bank account.
Q: What are the ongoing fees?
There are no ongoing fees, unlike other franchises, thus saving you thousands of pounds in future years.
Q: How financially strong is the franchise company?
The franchise has considerable cash backing and already has a very strong track record.
Q: How many other locations are there and what is your success rate?
There are 34 other locations. The success rate per lead is 50%.
Q: How much money can I make?
Year One - £30,000 - £60,000
Year Two - £40,000 - £80,000
Year Three - £80,000 - £120,000
Note – Due to the compulsory HMRC requirements of “Making Tax Digital”, more accountancy time is required. This is leading to higher profits.
Q: What sets you apart from your competitors?
We are specialists in looking after Sole Traders and Partnerships with around 30 years experience. The larger Accountancy Practices prefer dealing with large limited companies.
Q: How will I be supported by your organisation?
The Chief Executive Director and up to 2 support staff will be on hand.
Q: How do you resolve disagreements or disputes?
In the first instance, any problems should be e-mailed to the Chief Executive Director. He will seek to quickly sort the dispute.
Q: What are your expectations of your franchise owners?
To maintain the very high standards of the Top Choice Accountants name in presentation, accuracy, timelines and empathy with all clients.
Q: What will be my territory and how will it be protected?
Territories are allocated on a first-come, first served basis, suject to acceptability. Your territory will be as defined on the heads of agreements e.g. North Birmingham means one quarter of Birmingham as there are three other franchises in Birmingham.
Q: What kind of input will I have in marketing and advertising?
Your feedback is considered very important. The Chief Executive Director will assess all ideas and formulate a strong plan for the forthcoming period.
Q: What is a typical day like for a franchise?
The day is very varied and can change from the timing planned. Typically, priority has to be given to urgent matters.
Q: Who is in the support team?
The support team consists of very experienced Accountants Elaine Fields and Sonia Mogford-Abbott.
